Ubisoft confirmed back in September that it is working on a Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake. It didn’t blow our minds away, to put it mildly. But according to a leaker, the publisher has another title in the series that it is working on.
According to a translation by Redditor Mr_Aryan44, Indian YouTuber Lazy Assassin claims that Ubisoft is working on another Prince of Persia game that isn’t a remake. Instead, it will serve as a title that will reboot the series. That being said, it’s not something that will be out anytime soon. In fact, Lazy Assassin says it’s not something that will be out until 2023 or 2024.
If this is true, then this mysterious title is likely still in its early pre-production stages. This also means that the game could change directions or even get cancelled without Ubisoft needing to announce anything. Though GameRant reports that Lazy Assassin accurately called the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake, so there’s some credence to be had here.
On one hand, this can be good news for fans of the Prince of Persia series. On the other though, this is one series that has gone through a fair number of reboots of its own already.
