MSI recently launched its Modern series laptops, refreshed with Intel’s 11th generation CPUs. In addition to being fitted with Tiger Lake processors, the laptops are also some of the first machines to show off the brand’s newly redesigned logo.
The Modern series is available in two variants, the Modern 14 and Modern 15. Specs-wise, the Tiger Lake CPU in both models is a Core i7-1165G7, up to 16GB DDR4-3200MHz RAM, and a 512GB NVMe SSD. In regards to discrete graphics, the Modern 14 sports an NVIDIA MX450 4GB GPU, while the Modern 15 has the option of using Intel’s integrated Xe graphics or a 2GB variant of the MX450.
As for their displays, the Modern 14 has a 14-inch Full HD IPS display, while the Modern 15 sports a 15.6-inch Full HD panel. Regardless of the model, all models ship out with Windows 10 Home installed.
Pricing for the MSI Modern series start from RM3699 for the base model of the Modern 15, while the version with the MX450 will set consumers back RM4399. The Modern 14 is the priciest of the bunch, retailing at RM4499. All laptops units can be purchased at MSI’s official flagship store and authorised resellers, along with the brand’s official online retail store pages on both Lazada and Shopee. Additionally, the Modern 14 will be available in the Bluestone colour variant, while the Modern 15 is only available in Carbon Grey.
