Samsung Galaxy Tab Active3 Goes Official: Powered By The Same Processor From Galaxy Note9

You may not see it often within the consumer space but rugged tablets do have their place in the market especially for field-based professionals. Samsung has just announced one such product today in the form of Galaxy Tab Active3.

In terms of processing power, the new rugged tablet relies on Samsung’s own Exynos 9810 which has also been used for Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note9 series. While it is indeed an ageing processor, the target market of Galaxy Tab Active3 may care less about the tablet having the latest hardware and more towards its durability factor.

The protective case that is supplied with Galaxy Tab Active3 help protect the tablet from drops as high as 1.5 meters although, without the case, it is apparently sturdy enough to survive drops of 1.2 meters. The Galaxy Tab Active3 has also been designed to meet IP68 and MIL-STD-810H standards.

Even the S-Pen that Samsung has made for the tablet meets the IP68 standard. It also features a very different design than the S-Pen that you might have seen before which is meant to make the stylus easier to be used with gloves.

Also equipped with 4GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, and up to 128GB internal storage, the Galaxy Tab Active3 also comes with a 5050mAh battery and supports Samsung DeX. Samsung didn’t include the Malaysian pricing or release date for the tablet inside its announcement today but then again, the Galaxy Tab Active 3 is not something that you can purchase directly from Samsung Experience Stores anyway.
