After launching the Legion gaming notebook 2020 line-up in Malaysia, Lenovo has recently shifted its attention to the desktop members of the gaming series. Available through its online store, local gamers are now able to get their hands on the Legion Tower 5i and IdeaCentre Gaming 5i gaming desktops.

Even though the Malaysian variants of both models can be equipped up to Intel Core i7-10700 processors, their graphics card options are slightly different though. Being the high-end model, the Legion Tower 5i maxed out at NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060  while the IdeaCentre Gaming 5i only goes up to GeForce GTX 1660 Super although if you prefer Team Red graphics, both machines can be obtained with AMD Radeon RX5500 instead.

The GeForce RTX 2070 Super option for Legion Tower 5i shown above is not available in Malaysia at the moment though.

Despite having the same 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM as their base memory option, only the Legion Tower 5i can be purchased with 32GB RAM directly from the factory. Storage-wise, the Legion Tower 5i goes up to 2TB 7200rpm hard drive and 1TB SSD while the IdeaCentre Gaming 5i maxed out at 512GB SSD although the 2TB HDD option is still available for it.

Aside from the hardware differences, both desktop gaming machines not only feature chassis that looked so different to each other but different thermal solutions as well. According to Lenovo, the Legion Tower 5i has an interior volume of 28L with 150W CPU cooler while the IdeaCentre Gaming 5i has a 13.6L chassis and 80W CPU cooler.
