Back in February, Casio has unveiled the G-Shock GBD-H1000 to the world which seemed to attract a lot of attention from our readers. Well, if you have been looking forward to working out with the watch, we have good news for you: it is officially coming to Malaysia very soon.

For those who are have not heard of GBD-H1000, the watch carries several smart fitness functionalities within the traditional G-Shock form factor that is loved by many throughout the world. Equipped with an optical-based heart rate sensor, the watch also supports GPS, GLONASS, and Michibiki satellite system that allows users to measure their running distance accurately.

Also equipped with VO2max and step tracker functionality, Casio has also packed the GBD-H1000 with a compass, altimeter, barometer, and thermometer. Users can then check out their fitness data using the G-Shock Move mobile app and also able to export it to Strava, Google Fit, or Apple Health via the desktop version of the app.

In terms of battery life, the GBD-H1000 can last up to 12 months in Time Mode which includes step measurement and phone notifications. When used for GPS-based workout with heart rate monitor enabled, the watch is able to last for 14 hours and it can be charged through solar or USB.

We were informed by Casio representative that the GBD-H1000 will be officially released in Malaysia next week. However, a recent post on Casio Timepiece Malaysia’s Facebook page which is operated by Marco Corp, the company’s sole distributor for G-Shock in our market, signifies that certain G-Factory and G-Shock stores have already started selling the watch.
