Xiaomi made its name through the company’s vast smartphone catalogue but at the same time, it also has plenty of other products as well although most of them are only officially available in China. One of them is Mi TV which has the reputation as bang-for-buck large screen smart TV.

While certain Mi Store in Malaysia has put some units on display over the years, they are not for sale as the brand has not officially launched Mi TV in our market. Some savvier consumers would go as far as importing them directly from China or obtain them through enterprising importers.

That could change very soon as Xiaomi is already planning to release Mi TV in Malaysia very soon. According to an interview with Xiaomi Country Manager for Malaysia and Singapore, Nicholas Shi by Amanz, consumers in Malaysia can expect to see Mi TV in our market within this year.

Meanwhile, the executive further stated that other Xiaomi IoT products that the company is also planning to release in Malaysia includes Mi Watch, Mi Gaming Monitor, Mi Robot Vacuum Mop Pro and many more. However, Nicholas did not reveal any exact launch date for any of these products.

Xiaomi Ultrawide Curved Gaming Monitor was launched in late 2019.

He also didn’t reveal the list of Mi TV models that are going to be available in Malaysia. If you need a comparison though, Xiaomi has released four Mi TV in Indonesia so far including the Mi TV 4 55 that features 4K resolution, HDR support, and a price tag of IDR 4,999,000 (~RM 1,398).

There are also the Mi TV 4 43 and Mi TV 4A 43 which are full HD models and priced at IDR 3,499,000 (~RM 979) each. The fourth model according to Xiaomi Indonesia’s website is the entry-level Mi TV 4A 32 that has a resolution of 1366 x 768 and goes for IDR 1,899,000 (~RM 531) at the moment.

Well, we’ll keep you posted once we receive further information from Xiaomi Malaysia. For now, stay home as much as you can while practicing good hygiene and social distancing, so that we can help stop the spread of COVID-19 together as soon as possible.
