TM’s cellular brand, unifi Mobile has recently launched a new postpaid plan called Student Pack. As per its name, the plan is specially catered for students although it is available only in selected colleges and universities throughout the country.
According to the pack’s FAQ document [pdf], you might have to wait for the invitation email from your university admin but in case if you want to try immediately, just visit this special section at unifi Mobile’s website. Once your registration is successful, the SIM card will be then delivered to you within one to five working days.
As for what the Student Pack actually offers, it provides unlimited data, calls, and SMS for RM 59 per month. At the same time, students will also receive monthly LTE hotspot quota of 10GB, and they will not be bounded to any contract under this plan.
In fact, they can continue using the Student Pack plan at the same rate even when they have graduated from their respective colleges and universities. However, do note that unifi Mobile recommends that students utilize a phone that can supports LTE Band 5 which is the FDD 850MHz frequency for this plan.
The TnC document [pdf] for the Student Pack also stated that on non-Band 5 phone, the line could be suspended once the monthly data usage goes above 5GB and/or more than 2000 minutes of voice call.
