Vivo today has revealed the it will be launching the new V17 in Malaysia later this month. Despite the name, the V17 is not exactly a toned-down version of the V17 Pro that was released in Malaysia a few months ago.
In fact, the V17 looks slightly different than the V17 Pro due to its rectangular camera module which comes with an L-shaped rear camera array. However, the sensor setup remains identical between the two phones and includes 48MP main camera as well as 8MP ultra wide-angle, 2MP macro camera, and 2MP bokeh cameras.
At the same time, Vivo has also opted to equip a single punch-hole camera on V17 instead of a motorized pop-up dual selfie camera as per V17 Pro. Nevertheless, the V17 still offers a 32MP sensor inside its selfie camera.
While both devices do come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 and 6.44-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, Vivo has choose to equip a slightly larger capacity battery into the V17 at 4500mAh. It goes without saying that we have to wait until the launch event on 17 December to know its actual price in Malaysia but as a reference, the standard price of V17 in India is INR 27,990 (~RM 1,646).
