True to the rumours that we’ve heard a few weeks before, Google today has officially unveiled the new Pixelbook Go laptop. Building upon the foundation that was set by the original Pixelbook that the company launched in 2017, the new Go is said to offer a number of improvements over its predecessor.

Featuring a casing that made from magnesium together with a textured underside that is designed to allow users hold on to the Chrome OS-based notebook much easier, the new Pixelbook Go comes with a slightly bigger display than the original model at 13.3-inch. Except for the Intel Core i7 model which features 4K panel, other variants of Pixelbook Go are equipped with Full HD panel.

Speaking about processor, the Pixelbook Go can be obtained with 8th Gen Intel Core m3, Core i5, and Core i7 processor. Aside from that, customers can also choose to have their new Pixelbook Go with up to 16GB RAM and 256GB solid state drive.

Google has also pointed out that the backlit keyboard on Pixelbook Go is also quieter than its predecessor, thanks to its keys which the company called Hush Keys. Naturally, the laptop also comes with a dedicated Google Assistant key on its keyboard.

With an improved battery life rating of up to 12 hours, the Pixelbook Go variant with Core m3 processor, 8GB RAM, and 64GB storage carries a price tag of USD 649 (~RM 2,720). On another hand, the Core i5 model with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM goes for USD 849 (~RM 3,558) while a slight upgrade to the 16GB RAM option would increase its price tag to USD 999 (~RM 4,187).

As for the top of the line model which features Core i7, 16GB RAM, and 256GB storage, it is priced at USD 1,399 (~RM 5,863). Since almost none of Google’s hardware product have officially made their way into Malaysia, the possibility of seeing the new Pixelbook Go to be officially launched in our market is almost zero at the moment though.

However, if you somehow really want the new Pixelbook Go so bad, you might want to reach out to your favourite parallel importers or friends and family members in the United States.
