OPPO Malaysia has just announced two phones today in its new A Series 2020 mid-range lineup. They are the A9 2020 and A5 2020, with both of them sharing quite a few similarities between the two of them.

Starting with the A9, it features a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. On the inside, it comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and an impressive 5000mAh battery capable of reverse charging. It also runs ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie right out of the box.

As for cameras, the OPPO A9 2020 comes with a 48MP + 8MP 119-degree ultra wide-angle + 2MP monochrome + 2MP portrait lens quad combo. The front-facing camera sitting in the waterdrop notch, on the other hand, is a 16MP shooter.

The A5 2020 is, overall, very similar to the aforementioned A9 2020 as far as specs are concerned. The most important difference between the two can be found in the cameras. Where the A9 2020 comes with a 48MP main shooter and a 16MP selfie camera, the A5 2020 sports a 12MP main camera and an 8MP selfie camera instead.

On the inside, the A5 2020 comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Beyond these, everything else between the two devices are identical.

The OPPO A9 2020 is priced at RM1199, while the A5 2020 comes with a RM699. The former comes is Space Purple and Marine Green, while the latter comes in Mirror Black and Dazzling White. The colours are basically the only way to tell the phone’s apart, at least on the outside. They are also available for pre-order until 27 September, and will be available a day after.
