Months after its debut at MWC 2019 and just a couple of weeks after its appearance on the SIRIM database, Sony is finally ready to debut the Xperia 1 in Malaysia. As per Sony Malaysia’s official statement, the company’s flagship smartphone will be available sometime in early October 2019.
Sony will begin taking pre-orders from customers starting 24 August until 6 October 2019. As you might have expected, the phone comes with a pretty steep price tag at RM4299. But, in an effort to soften the pot and to sweeten the deal, Sony is also bundling the Xperia 1 with a pair of its WH-1000XM3 noise-cancelling headphone worth RM1599, free of charge.
Before you get all excited, we should point out that there are some terms and conditions. Firstly, it seems that the phone will be available for pre-order via their official online store and select Sony Centres. Second, Sony will be limiting the sale of the Xperia 1 to one unit per person.
The Sony Xperia 1 is the brand’s top-tier flagship device. It stands out from its competitors by being the only smartphone by having large 21:9 CinemaWide 4K HDR 6.5-inch OLED display, powered by its BRAVIA Technology. Beneath the hood, the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, 6GB RAM, and has a 12MP triple-camera setup for its main camera.
