While Motorola might seem rather quiet these days, that doesn’t mean the mobile subsidiary of Lenovo is sitting idle on its laurels though. Earlier this week, the brand has announced a new phone called Motorola One Action.
The “Action” on its name is a direct reference to the 16MP quad pixel action video camera on the phone’s back which also comes together with f/2.2 117-degrees lens. Since this particular camera is meant specifically for videography, owners of Motorola One Action have to utilize the phone’s other cameras which include 12MP f/1.8 snapper and 5MP depth sensor.
Interesting enough, the Motorola One Action is powered by Samsung Exynos 9609 processor instead of a chip from the usual manufacturers such as Qualcomm or MediaTek. Another unique feature on the phone is its 6.3-inch FHD+ IPS display which has a 21:9 aspect ratio.
Motorola One Action also comes standard with 12MP f/2.0 selfie camera, 4GB of RAM, 128GB internal storage, and 3500mAh battery. While it might be an Android One device, the phone does come with a number of Motorola’s UI functionality such as peek display, lift to unlock, three-finger screenshot, and more.

Price-wise, the Motorola One Action can be obtained for EU 259 (about RM 1,200) in Europe as well as Brazil and Mexico. For now, there is no information of the phone’s release in Malaysia but given the minimal support for newer Motorola phones in our market, it is likely that we will only know at the very last minute if the phone is coming to Malaysia.
