It’s been just over a week since Vivo officially launched its S1 smartphone in Malaysia. Now, back over in China, the Chinese brand recently held a launch for another flagship device, the Vivo Z5, and it comes with some rather impressive hardware.

As a start, the Z5 features a 6.38-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED notched display, with a screen-to-body ratio of 90%. Underneath the hood, the phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC, up to 8GB RAM, and up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage.

Powering up the display and all its components is a sizable 4500mAh battery, which can be charged via the phone’s USB-C port. Speaking of charging, the Z5 also supports Vivo FlashCharge technology, with a power transfer rate of 22.5W.

Moving on to its camera sensors, the Z5 features a triple-camera main module, comprising a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle, and a 2MP depth-of-field sensor. At the front, the previously mentioned notch in the middle of the display houses a 32MP selfie camera.

At current, the Vivo Z5 is on sale in China for 1598 Yuan (~RM959) for the 6GB/64GB variant, 1898 Yuan (~RM1139) for the 6GB/128GB model, 1998 Yuan (~RM1198) for a 6GB/256GB version, and lastly, 2298 Yuan (~RM1379) for the 8GB/128GB model. The phone is also available in three colour variants: Purple (Aurora Illusion), Blue and White (Holographic Illusion), and Green (Bamboo Forest Night).

At the time of writing, Vivo Malaysia did not specify local availability or pricing for the phone, or even if the phone will be making its way to our shores.
