ASUS Launches ROG Strix GL Series Desktop PCs In Malaysia; Starts From RM2699

Besides launching its ROG Zephyrus S GX701 gaming notebook, ASUS also launched two new desktop PCs for the Malaysian market. These two gaming desktop PCs are the ROG Strix GL10CS and GL12CX.

The GL10CS is basically an entry-level gaming PC. Designed and created specifically for gamers looking for something affordable but still powerful enough for MOBA titles and the occasional triple-A title.

Specs-wise, GL10CS has three SKUs. At RM2699, the “barebones” model comes with an Intel Core i5-8400 CPU, 4GB DDR4 RAM, a 1TB 7200 rpm HDD, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 2GB discrete GPU.

The top-of-the-line GL10CS variant obviously features slightly more bumped up specs. This includes an Intel Core i7-8700 CPU, 8GB DDR4-2666 RAM, the addition of a 128GB M.2 SSD, and a GeForce GTX 1060 instead of a GTX 1050. This particular variant of the GL10CS retails for RM5499. There’s third variant that’s nearly identical to this variant, but instead of a Core i7-8700 CPU, you get a Core i5-8400 instead. Further, it’s also cheaper at RM4499.

Next in line is the GL12CX. The lineup comprises three different SKUs, although it was quite obvious that ASUS intends to focus on the SKU with the highest configuration. Unlike the GL10CS, the GL12CX lineup comes pre-installed with NVIDIA’s Turing-powered GeForce RTX series graphics cards.

At its starting price of RM9999, ASUS will fit the GL12CX with a 9th generation Core i7-9700k CPU, 16GB DDR4-2666 RAM, a 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD and 1TB HDD, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 graphics card. Throwing another RM3000 into the budget, and ASUS will upgrade the GeForce RTX 2070 to a GeForce RTX 2080 instead.

Of course, if you’re willing to shell out RM14999, ASUS will sell you the GL12CX variant that comes with Intel’s Core i9-9900K, a GeForce RTX 2080, 16GB DDR4-2666 RAM, a GeForce RTX 2080, and a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD instead of 256GB.

Both the ASUS ROG GL10CS and GL12CX are already available for purchase at all authorised resellers in Malaysia. All configurations come with a three-year global warranty. Further, consumers will get an ASUS ROG Strix Flare mechanical keyboard and Gladius II gaming mouse with every purchase of the GL12CX, while the GL10CS will only come bundled with a generic ASUS-branded keyboard and mouse.
