Alienware 55-Inch 4K 120Hz OLED Display Is An Absolute Beauty

The company might be known more for its PC but Dell is also a major player within the monitor market. Catering various type of users, quite a number of them are targeted at gamers especially those under its Alienware branding but as far as I can remember, never before Dell comes out with something as majestic as the Alienware 55 OLED display that it has debuted at CES 2019.

Just like the beastly Alienware Area-51m, the Alienware 55 was conceived through the brand’s newly established design identity called Alienware Legend. With an emphasis on purposeful innovation as well as performance and function, the new design philosophy was inspired by industrial designs within the science fiction culture.

In terms of specifications, the Alienware 55 monitor apparently able to deliver more than 98% DCI-P3 color coverage as an excellent level of black and contrast ratio which is something you would expect from an OLED panel. Being a gaming monitor, it has also been equipped with a 120Hz panel that has a native resolution of 4K.

Dell has also implemented the brand’s signature AlienFX customizable lighting strip into the center back area of the monitor. The company also stated that the Alienware 55 will feature enough ports to cater both PC or console gamers.

However, those are pretty much the information that Dell has released regarding its Alienware 55 OLED monitor at CES 2019 which is certainly one of the highlights at its showcase area. Even though it was labeled as a “technology preview”, I was informed that gamers should look forward to seeing it in the market within the second half of 2019.
