U Mobile has announced its new Unlimited HERO P139 plan. The plan seems to be aimed at frequent travelers, especially for those who sign up during the first three months.
Let’s cover the basics first. The Unlimited HERO P139 plan gives you unlimited data and calls to all networks. Also part of the package is 50GB for mobile hotspot usage, and 3GB of roaming data in 12 countries. All this comes with a monthly subscription price of RM139.
That said, if you sign up before 28 February 2019, you’ll get 24 months of the Roam-Onz Global add on service, free of charge. This extends your 3GB of roaming data to 36 countries. The telco hasn’t decided on a standalone price for this add on once the promotion period is over though. On a separate note, the telco is also contemplating on whether it should make this available to its other plans.

The introduction of Roam-Onz Global is interesting, and it will likely be included in plans that U Mobile intends to announce beyond the P139. The telco also says it intend to further fragment Roam-Onz Global into specific continents for subscribers who don’t necessarily need global roaming coverage, but we’ll have to wait until next year before we hear anything more from U Mobile.
