A media invite has landed in our inbox earlier today from Honor Malaysia which pointed to a launch event that is going to take place next month. Given the circumstance, it is likely that the launch event will mark the official arrival of Honor 8X in our market.
As per our previous report, Honor Malaysia have already begun to tease the phone since last Wednesday. Last Friday, the company posted another teaser on its page which once again reiterate Honor 8X’s 91% screen-to-body ratio. However, what made this teaser slightly different is that it also focused on the phone’s 128GB storage.
Meanwhile, it is quite hard to directly confirm the device that will be featured at the upcoming Honor Malaysia’s launch event. Even though the silhouette that was appeared on the invite clearly shown a phone with display notch just like Honor 8X, the company already released several phones with display notch for the past few months in Malaysia including Honor 10 and Honor Play.
There is indeed another 2018 phone that comes with display notch and 128GB storage within Honor’s current catalog called Honor 9i/9N but its screen-to-body ratio doesn’t match Honor Malaysia’s teaser. Hence, the answer seems rather obvious but nevertheless, we still going to wait for Honor Malaysia’s confirmation at the 9 October’s launch event.
