Right after announcing the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max, Apple has also unveiled yet another new iPhone in the form of iPhone XR. Its name is something that we have learned earlier through a leak several hours ago but of course, the official announcement by Apple reveals plenty of juicy details regarding the new model.

With a body that is made from a combination of glass and 7000 series aluminum, the iPhone XR is equipped with a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina IPS display which Apple claimed as the most advanced LCD display in a smartphone. Featuring native resolution of 1792 x 828 with a pixel density of 326ppi, iPhone XR display doesn’t come with 3D Touch feature but is equipped with haptic touch instead.

While still featuring True Tone and wide color gamut as per iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max’s new Super Retina OLED display, the equally new Liquid Retina IPS display on iPhone XR doesn’t come with HDR feature though. Nevertheless, all three devices have the same maximum brightness level.

Not only that, the iPhone XR is also powered by the same A12 Bionic chip and 7MP f/2.2 TrueDepth front camera just like its two higher-end siblings. While the iPhone XR features only a single 12MP f/1.8 camera with optical image stabilization and 6-elements lens as opposed to iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max dual 12MP cameras, users can still utilize the new Smart HDR, and Depth Control features on the phone.

In terms of battery life, the iPhone XR offers talk time of up to 25 hours and 15 hours for Internet usage. Another factor that made iPhone XR rather interesting is that it will be made available in plenty of colorways at launch including Black, Blue, Coral, White, Yellow, and (PRODUCT) RED.

Price-wise, the 64GB iPhone XR will be available for USD 749 (about RM 3101) while the 128GB and 256GB variants will go for USD 799 (RM 3308) and USD 899 (RM 3722) respectively. Consumers in first wave markets such as the United States will be able to pre-order the phone starting from 19 October onwards prior to its on-ground roll-out on 26 October but for Malaysia, we have to wait for further updates from Apple.
