It took the company a while to bring it into Malaysia but nevertheless, the Acer Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) Headset is now officially in our market. In general, this made it as the first ever WMR headset to receive an official release in our market.
Equipped with a pair of 2.89-inch 90Hz display which has native resolution of 2800 x 1400 and pixel density of 706ppi, the headset can achieve six degrees of freedom and is equipped with inside-out tracking which eliminate the necessity to use additional sensors within one’s room. It also comes with spatial audio capability to help deliver immersive experience although users need to use their own earphones or headphones.
In terms of availability, the headset is currently can be obtained only from Rextech, a custom PC retailer based in Puchong. Priced at RM 1700, the headset comes with standard with a pair of WMR Motion Controllers and 1-year warranty from Acer Malaysia.
Rextech will also provide free Bluetooth dongle with each purchase as the WMR Motion Controllers require Bluetooth connectivity in order to work.
