Asus’ first flagship smartphone this year is coming to Malaysia very, very soon. Of course, we’re talking about the Asus ZenFone 5Z, which was officially launched back at MWC 2018.
While going through SIRIM’s database, we noticed that the ZenFone 5Z – with the model number ZS620KL – was registered under Dynamics Distribution just yesterday. Chances are, Asus Malaysia is gearing up to launch the 5Z on our shores.
As a flagship smartphone, the ZenFone 5Z naturally comes with high-end hardware. It features a 6.2-inch Full HD+ Super IPS+ display (with a notch at the top), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM, fast UFS 2.1 storage up to 256GB, a microSD card slot, as well as a 3,300mAh battery.
In the camera department, the ZenFone 5Z has a 12MP f/1.8 primary shooter with optical image stabilisation, which is paired with an 8MP f/2.2 120-degree wide-angle camera. Aside from that, it also has an 8MP f/2.0 front-facing shooter.
Now that the Asus ZenFone 5Z is already in SIRIM’s database, we reckon it will be launched here in Malaysia very soon. It’ll be interesting to see how much Asus Malaysia will price the phone locally.
