Acer introduced plenty of new products today in New York, and one of the highlights is definitely a new variant of the Helios 300. Dubbed the Acer Predator Helios 300 Special Edition, it features a sleek white aluminium chassis – complete with gold accents – and an upgraded display.
Unlike Acer’s other range of Predator laptops, the Helios 300 Special Edition sports a unique white and gold colour scheme. And unlike its predecessor’s conventional 60Hz display, the new model sports a faster 15.6-inch 1080p 144Hz panel too. Naturally, this gaming laptop can also be equipped with an eight generation Intel Core i7+ processor.
In the GPU side of things, the new Helios 300 only comes with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 GPU; there doesn’t seem to be an option for a GTX 1050 model. Other specifications of the gaming laptop include up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM (further upgradeable to 32GB), a fast PCIe SSD that tops at 512GB, and of course, up to 2TB of hard drive storage.
Oh, if you want a more “gamer-centric” black model, worry not: the standard Helios 300 with a more traditional black colour scheme also comes with the same hardware upgrades. This special edition model is really for consumers who want a gaming laptop that looks more…elegant.
At the time of writing, it still remains to be seen how much the Acer Predator Helios 300 Special Edition will go for; it doesn’t have a release date yet either. Hopefully, the new Helios 300 will be made available in Malaysia in the near future.
