Xiaomi looks to be serious about improving its camera division; looking to set up its own in-house team to see to the matter. The plans were discovered after an email from Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, which detailed the creation of the division.
Jun’s email claims that the camera is one of the most important features on a modern smartphone. Therefore, to better compete with other big brands, Xiaomi hopes that by having a dedicated team working on improving the image quality to make the company stand out from the rest of the competition.
Xiaomi is no stranger to making the most of its cameras. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S garnered positive responses for its image quality, managing to get an impressive score on DxO Mark.
Therefore, the creation of a camera division in the company will only see more improvements in the future. However, it is still too early to see the result from this division.
