As mentioned in our previous article, AMD has officially announced that the brand-new 2nd Gen Ryzen desktop processors will be released throughout the world starting from 19 April onwards. That same goes for Malaysia as well.
So, here is the price list of 2nd Gen Ryzen desktop processors for Malaysia:
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X: RM 1559
AMD Ryzen 7 2700: RM 1429
AMD Ryzen 5 2600X: RM 1059
AMD Ryzen 5 2600: RM 899
In general, the difference between the new chips and their predecessors are rather minuscule mainly thanks to the massive price drop that AMD Malaysia has announced back in February. For example, only RM 30 separates the Ryzen 7 2700 and Ryzen 5 1700 apart while the Ryzen 7 2600 is just RM 40 more than Ryzen 7 1600.
Not only that, Ryzen 7 2700X and Ryzen 5 2600X are just RM 60 higher than their predecessors. While the gap could grow in time whether through actual price drop or discounts from retailers, users might want to get their hands right on the 2nd Gen Ryzen chips rather than their predecessors considering the prices.
