Alongside the new Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15, HP has also introduced the new Pavilion Gaming Desktop series. Available in two different models, it might be hard to guess that they are gaming PCs at first since it features the same physical design as per the newly refreshed 2018 Pavilion Desktop series.
Of course, it is still not that hard to differentiate between the performance-oriented systems and their mainstream counterparts. This is because the HP Pavilion Gaming Dekstop systems comes in Shadow Black colorway that is highlighted further by green LED on their front panel while the refreshed Pavilion Desktop mainstream systems are available in Ash Silver or Natural Silver.
The smaller out of the two models, the Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690 seems to be made for the mid-range market. Hardware options that HP offers for it include 8th Gen Intel Core i7+ or 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen CPU as well as up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580 graphics card.
As for the bigger Pavilion Gaming Desktop 790, it can be fitted with up to 6-core 8th Gen Intel Core i7+ CPU, 64GB of RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card. Storage-wise, both 690 and 790 models are able to support single storage setup of up to 3TB HDD or 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. For customers that prefer dual storage setup, they can opt for up to 512GB SSD with 3TB HDD or 3TB HDD with Intel Optane memory.
It is not yet known when HP will be releasing these systems in Malaysia but in United Stated, the Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690 will be leading the roll out on 15 April while its bigger brother Pavilion Gaming Desktop 790 will follow suit much later on 3 June.
