Avita isn’t a brand that most of us would be entirely familiar with. The company, which is a subsidiary of the US brand, Nexstgo, officially launched its new LIBER series range of notebooks here in Malaysia.

With a price range starting from RM1,799, the Avita LIBER series touts itself as a lifestyle notebook. Its desired core audience are the hip and fashionable; people who are more concerned about ensuring that the notebook makes them physically noticeable, instead of being revered digitally.

But first, let’s talk specs of the Avita LIBER series. As touted by Avita, one of the main appeals of the notebook is just how customisable they can be. Users can choose from a Intel Celeron CPU as a base, all the way to a powerful eighth-generation Intel Core i7 CPU. RAM starts at 4GB of DDR3, while the basic storage capacity for the series is a 128GB SSD (the maximum storage capacity is 512GB). Additionally, users can also choose between 13.3″ and 14″ Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) displays.

Whatever your choice of the guts are, both the 13.3″ and 14″ come with the same input and I/O ports, which includes an chiclet-type keyboard, a larger-than-usual trackpad, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one USB 3.0 Type-C, one microSD card slot, one 3.5mm headphone and microphone combo jack, one mini HDMI port, and a 36Wh lithium ion battery rated for 10 hours of continuous use.

The biggest appeal of the Avita LIBER notebooks, however, lies in the massive colour selection that consumers will be able to choose from. These colours include:

  • Avita Purple
  • Angel Blue
  • Cloud Silver
  • Champagne Gold
  • Fragrant Lilac
  • Matte Black
  • Pearl White
  • Princess Pink
  • Space Grey
  • Urban Ruby

As though that isn’t enough, Avita has also stated that it will be bringing in more colours in after its official launch date. On that note: the Avita LIBER series notebooks will go on sale on 10 February, 2018. The notebook will be sold at two outlets: Notebook Pro at Digital Mall in PJ, and Firestorm Digital at Low Yat Plaza.

As part of the official launch day promotion, the first 50 customers will be eligible to purchase a LIBER notebook fitted with a Pentium CPU, 4GB of RAM, and a 128GB SSD for just RM688. Sadly, there is no way to purchase these notebooks via any online shopping site yet, but Avita did say that the option will be made available as soon as next month.
