Lazada Malaysia is kicking off its month-long online sales event, called Online Revolution 2017, this Saturday. Coinciding with the global 11/11 Singles Day online sales, the e-commerce platform is offering plenty of deals to entice Malaysians to shop on Lazada over the next month.
With about 90 million products for sale on the platform, Lazada is undoubtedly the largest e-commerce platform in the country. For the Online Revolution 2017 sale, Lazada has roped in multiple brand partners on the platform to offer even better deals for the coming month.
For instance, Petronas has moved into the e-commerce space by offering petrol gift cards at a discount in Lazada, while mobile top-ups as well as other e-vouchers and travel packages are now also widely available on the platform. Some brands will also offer “Mystery Boxes” with huge markdowns during the sale. And as usual, Malaysians can expect flash sales, various voucher codes, and a new RM1 deals page for maximum value for money.
Finally, Lazada has roped in various marketing partners including Digi and CIMB to offer giveaways worth more than RM60 million to Malaysians who shop on Lazada during the Online Revolution 2017 sale. These giveaways include vouchers, products such as the iPhone X, Club Med holiday packages, multiple Perodua Bezza cars, and even a chance to travel to the US and experience a zero-gravity flight.
Lazada Malaysia CEO, Hans-Peter Ressel, expects to “1 out of 5 Malaysians” to be on Lazada’s website or app during 11/11. The Lazada app is already downloaded by “a third of the country’s population”, so Ressel’s expectations does not seem too far-fetched. The 2016 Online Revolution saw over 500,000 orders placed, and Lazada Malaysia is gearing up for a much higher figure over the course of the month.
