The OPPO has unveiled the R11s and R11s Plus, both featuring an 18:9 screen, a body-to-screen ratio of 85% and dual camera technology. This announcement comes hot on the heels of the OPPO F5 here in Malaysia.

At the heart of the new phones is the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor. Leaving the main difference between the two at screen size, battery capacity and RAM.

The R11s has a 6.01-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 4GB RAM, while the R11s Plus comes with a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and 6GB RAM. Battery wise the Plus model gets a plus-sized battery at 4000mAh; The standard R11s makes do with 3205mAh.

Both phones share other specifications, including:

  • 64GB internal storage
  • microSD support up to 256GB
  • 20MP f / 2.0 selfie camera
  • 16MP f/1.7 + 20MP f/1.7 rear camera
  • ColorOS 3.2 on Android 7.1.1
  • Rear fingerprint scanner
  • VOOC fast charging

The selfie camera benefits from a built-in AI to enhance photos. This is done by collecting data points such as age, skin tone, and facial structure; allowing the camera to automatically capture the best selfie every time. The same camera also powers the facial recognition system, which claims a. 0.08 second unlock time.

The OPPO R11s is priced at CNY 2,999 (about RM 1,918) while the R11s Plus is priced at CNY 3,699 (about RM 2,366). Both phones will be available in Black and Champagne Gold, while a special Red colour edition of the R11s will also be on sale for CNY 3,199 (RM 2,046). The two phones will be available in stages – R11s from 10 November and the R11s Plus from 24 November in China. No news yet when will the phone be available here in Malaysia, so stay tuned.
