Hotlink has a series of mysterious new data plans in the Hotlink Red app. Listed as a promotion under something known as HotlinkMU, it appears to offer a basic data package. Ones that are free from all the extras available to the regular Hotlink Red data passes.
We’re still not exactly sure what’s going on with this, as the promotion is being tagged with the word “beta”. On the surface, it looks like Hotlink is streamlining its add-on data under a new promotion. Especially since the validity of the HotlinkMU goes as low as only two hours, and extends all the way up to 30 days.
Curiously, the screenshot from @khainiz94 (who tipped us about the deal) doesn’t appear on our app. Leading to believe that this is a new system of personalised daily deals. Which could mean that Hotlink is offering differing amounts of data at different prices points. It’s difficult to say how much this differs across users, but it’s an interesting twist.
The additional data does not include other Hotlink benefits like Happy Hour data or unlimited free calls. In fact, buying the passes doesn’t even provide Red reward points in the app. Which could be due to the promotion still being a test.
We’ve already reached out to Maxis for more information but have not yet heard back.
