Ever wish that you able to control the decisions of your favorite characters in one of your most watched Netflix series? Well, you might able to do it soon as the Internet TV service has implemented interactive storytelling into its content.

In case you are wondering what it is all about, interactive storytelling allows viewers to choose the progress of the contents that the viewer is watching. Think of the idea as the equivalent of the “Choose Your Own Adventure” book series or Lone Wolf gamebooks that you might have encounter when you were younger.

Netflix Interactive Storytelling

Truth to be told, it was an open secret that Netflix is working to implement interactive storytelling for its contents. In fact, this was confirmed by Netflix’s president Reed Hastings back in May.

Meanwhile, the feature is still in its infancy. Hence, not surprising that only two contents – both are made for children – will come with the interactive story feature: Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale which is available today and Buddy Thunderstruck: The Maybe Pile that will be released on 14 July.

Furthermore, the interactive feature is currently available on smart TVs, streaming media players, game consoles, and iOS device. For those who depend on their Android devices, Chromecast, Apple TV, or Netflix website to enjoy the contents from the service, they have to wait slightly longer before the feature is accessible on these platforms.

This doesn’t mean they are not able to watch those interactive contents though. Such contents will continue to be available on unsupported devices , just that they not able to utilize their interactive options and will be presented with a linear version of those contents.
