Google’s Android Device Manager Now Known as Find My Device, Introduces Several New Features

Google has just made finding your misplaced Android devices a little easier. The company recently introduced a new Find My Device app, a new and improved version of Android Device Manager that was launched back in 2013. Available on the Play Store and on the web, Find My Device, as its name suggests, lets you easily find your device, make it ring, or lock and erase it remotely.

On top of being able to locate every single one of your connected Android devices be it a phone, tablet or an Android Wear, the new Find My Device app will also show you important information about each device. Previously unavailable on Android Device Manager, the new app can now show you the battery level, and Wi-Fi network connection.

Find My Device is part of Google’s new Google Play Protect that was announced at the on-going Google I/O 2017 event. Google Play Protect is the company’s “comprehensive security service for Android, providing powerful new protections and greater visibility into your device security.” According to the internet giant, the security system will work round the clock to keep your device, data and apps safe. It will actively scan your device to ensure that your security has not been compromised.

Check out Google to find out more about its new Play Protect service, or download its latest Find My Device app from the Play Store now.
