After launching the vivo V5 late last year, the Chinese company has unveiled the vivo V5s in Malaysia today. Much like the V5, the V5s also has a 20MP front-facing shooter. In fact, these two devices…are actually very similar to each other.
But that’s not really a surprise: the V5s is really an incremental upgrade over the V5. The V5s still comes with a 5.5-inch 720p display, a MediaTek MT6750 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, a 13MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus, as well as a 3,000mAh battery. Interestingly, however, the V5s comes with double the V5’s internal storage at 64GB.
In comparison to the V5, the V5s actually sports a slightly different design: it now has a cleaner, sleeker-looking back panel. Rounding out the specifications of the V5s are dual-SIM support, an AK4376 DAC for improved audio quality, and FunTouch OS 3.0 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.
The vivo V5s is now available for pre-order in Malaysia for RM1,299; it actually retains the vivo V5’s original price tag, which is a pleasant surprise. The V5s comes in three colours: Matte Black, Gold, and of course, Rose Gold. It will go on sale in Malaysia from 10 May onwards.
