If you’re in the market for a new smartphone, good news: both Huawei and honor have something in store for you. Huawei has released a limited edition run of the Mate 9 in Black, while honor is introducing a new bundle for the honor 8 in celebration of the upcoming White Day – a follow-up to Valentine’s Day.
Let’s start with the Black Mate 9. Aside from the new colour, this limited edition of the Mate 9 has similar hardware to other models of the phone. These include a 5.9-inch 1080p IPS display, a Kirin 960 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, Leica-branded 20MP + 12MP rear cameras, an 8MP front-facing shooter, as well as a sizeable 4,000mAh battery. The Black Mate 9 also carries the same RM2,699 price tag.
honor’s offering, on the other hand, is pretty interesting. Dubbed White Valentine’s Bundle, it contains the honor 8 in Pearl White, an honor Band Z1 (or an honor Band SS), Shiroi Koibito white chocolate, and…well, white roses soap. This bundle retails at RM1,834; it’s worth noting that the Pearl White honor 8 itself already goes for RM1,699.
In terms of specification, this variant of the honor 8 is packing a 5.2-inch 1080p LTPS display, a Kirin 950 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, a dual 12MP rear camera, an 8MP front-facing shooter, as well as a 3,000mAh battery.
If you’re keen to get your hands on the limited edition Huawei Mate 9 in Black, it is available at all Huawei Experience Stores nationwide; it can also be purchased via Maxis’ Zerolution plan or Lazada. As for the honor 8 White Valentine’s Bundle, it can be purchased from selected Huawei or honor stores as well as on Vmall Malaysia until 14 March 2017.
