Mysterious OPPO Smartphone Appears On SIRIM: Most Likely A Mid-Range Model

Few days ago, a rather interesting device named A37f from OPPO has appeared on SIRIM’s database. Since the company’s new R9 series will be officially launched later today, could this be the new smartphone? Well, the possibility is there but we believe that the A37f is a different model altogether.

As a reference, previous Axxx models from OPPO that have appeared in the SIRIM includes Joy 3 (A11w), Mirror 5 (A51f), and Neo 7 (A33f). Hence, the A37f could be yet another mid-range or even entry-level smartphone from OPPO.

Furthermore, the model number for R9 devices starts with the R9 moniker itself according to the database maintained by TENAA – China’s own certification center for telecommunication products. Interestingly, the A37f itself has yet to appear on that database. At the moment, the only other place that this mysterious dual-SIM LTE phone has appeared apart from SIRIM is Indonesia’s certification database.

Meanwhile, OPPO fans shouldn’t worry about the status of R9 as OPPO Malaysia has confirmed that it will be released in our market in mid-April. In general, only its final specifications, and Malaysian pricing are our main concerns at the moment – which will all be answered soon enough.

(Thanks for the tips, @Syazx83!)
