Gigabyte has unveiled the Radeon R9 380X WindForce 2X graphics card. This iteration of the R9 380X is Gigabyte’s newest addition to its AMD graphics card series. Interestingly, this is Gigabyte’s second iteration of the Radeon R9 380X graphics card; the first one was the R9 380X G1 Gaming.

Surprisingly, Gigabyte chose to stick with AMD’s stock clock speeds (970MHz) with its R9 380X WindForce 2X. However, Gigabyte does offer a custom-made PCB along with its WindForce cooling solution. In addition to that, the graphics card is also equipped with an aluminium fin-stack heatsink along with three copper heat pipes for more efficient cooling. In fact, Gigabyte deemed the cooling solution to be so efficient that when not under heavy load, the fans on the graphics card will be shut off.

The R9 380X WindForce 2X will also feature a signature metal back plate, which will add better support for the graphics card. It will also be utilising a 256-bit 4GB GDDR5 memory standard. It’s worth noting that one should opt for a 500W power supply when using the graphics card. The 380X WindForce 2X also includes two dual-link DVI-I and DIV-D ports, one DisplayPort 1.2a, as well as one HDMI 1.4a port.

According to Gigabyte, the R9 380X WindForce 2X will be retailing at US$230 (about RM970). Unfortunately, Gigabyte hasn’t mentioned the availability of the graphics card yet, but it should be available soon enough.
