Huawei P9 Could Come in Four Variants; Huawei Laptop in the Pipeline?

It has been quite some time ever since the Huawei P8 was introduced, so not surprisingly, rumours regarding its successor have made it onto the Internet. According to a particular report, the Huawei P9 will be available in four variants; the P8 was only available in three different models.

The report suggests that the Huawei P9 – in addition to the standard model – will consist of the P9lite and P9max, just like the Huawei P8lite and P8max. Interestingly, the fourth variant of the P9 will be a higher-end offering than the standard model, although it remains to be seen just what it will be called.

Regardless, the leak claims that the fourth Huawei P9 variant will have a bigger screen than the standard model, but the display size will supposedly still be smaller than the P9max. Other than that, the highest-end P9 is said to be packing a dual-camera setup as well; perhaps the camera configuration is inspired from the honor 6 Plus?

Unfortunately, other specifications of these alleged variants of the Huawei P9 are still under wraps for now. What was revealed, however, is the fact that none of Huawei’s devices this year will sport any display resolution higher than 1080p. At least, that’s what the report is suggesting. As for release date, the Huawei P9 and its other variants will supposedly be unveiled after MWC 2016.

However, that doesn’t mean Huawei won’t be unveiling anything at MWC 2016; certain parties believe that the Chinese company will be launching a rather interesting product at the event. According to VentureBeat, it could very well be a Microsoft Surface Book-like product, although not much information was revealed beyond that.

Of course, until Huawei itself confirms these details, nothing is set in stone. That being said, Evan Blass – the author of the report – does have a very good track record of being accurate with his information. Only time will tell if these details are legitimate.
