Samsung’s next generation wearable, the Samsung Gear S3, is arriving in Malaysia on 8 December at all Samsung Experience Stores and authorised dealers. Announced back in September, the Gear S3 is being released into two different styles to cater to different types of consumers. The best part is that these two styles will be priced the same.
The Gear S3 Classic draws on the same design language as its predecessor, the Gear S2. On the other hand, the Gear S3 Frontier takes on a more rugged and masculine approach to the design.
Both smartwatches share the same internals, and have interchangeable 22mm watch straps. Leaving very little to choose from between the two.
As part of Samsung’s launch offerings, both the Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier will ship with two additional watch straps (in different colours) and a limited edition collector box. There is only a limited number of these extras to give out, but Samsung has generously extended the offer to orders from Lazada and 11street as well.
We had earlier predicted that the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier would retail for RM1,399; and it looks like that was right on the money. What we didn’t expect was that Samsung would also offer the Gear S3 Classic for the same amount. Considering that both smartwatches are virtually identical, this is very good news for those who were hoping they wouldn’t have to choose between the two.
