If you’re in the market for a new slim gaming laptop, good news: the Asus ROG Strix GL502 gaming laptop with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 GPU has arrived in Malaysia. What makes the new GL502 particularly interesting is the fact that it is one of the most affordable GTX 1060 gaming laptops in Malaysia now.
We first spotted the new GL502 on Tech Hypermart’s online store. According to the company’s online listing, the refreshed GL502 with a GTX 1060 GPU has a suggested retail price of RM6,799. In comparison, another gaming laptop with a similar GPU is the MSI GE62VR, which goes for RM6,899.
Interestingly, not only is the refreshed GL502 more affordable than its predecessor – which retails at RM6,999 – it’s also much more practical. Unlike the older GL502 with a 15.6-inch 4K display, the new model has a more conventional – and less power-hungry – 1080p IPS display. That being said, the new GL502 with GTX 1060 also has half the RAM capacity of its predecessor at 8GB.
Other specifications of the new GL502 gaming laptop listed on Tech Hypermart’s listing include an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor, a 1TB SATA HDD paired with a 128GB SSD, a 23.5mm thin chassis, as well as Windows 10 Home out of the box.
Now that the new Asus ROG Strix GL502 has been listed online in Malaysia, we imagine other retailers may already have the new laptop in stock as well. For its asking price, the GL502 seems like a pretty solid gaming machine.
