You can now give your Facebook Live videos an artistic makeover. Prisma recently updated its app, allowing users to apply its filters for live streams on Facebook.
All you need to do is give your Prisma app an update on the App Store and once done, you will see a new Live Stream option on the main interface. Tapping on that will open up live streaming, whereby you will need to connect to your Facebook account.
You can apply one of the eight Prisma art filters to live broadcasts. Sadly, this feature is pretty limited, and is only available for the iPhone 7 or iPhone 6s. Prisma says that this is because they need a more powerful device as all videos are processed locally on the device. The update also improves overall video quality.
Prisma was first announced on iOS devices earlier this year and was launched on Android devices shortly after. It is more than just a regular image editing app that lets you apply filter effects to pictures and videos. It uses artificial intelligence and “deep learning algorithms” to scan your file and properly applying filters to turn “your photos and videos into art”.
Its artistic filters are obviously very successful. In October, Google shared something similar called Style Transfer that allows users to turn their regular images to “the style of a well known work of art”. Facebook has also been working on something similar and according to reports, is available on its main app in various regions.
For those of you who are using an iPhone 7 or iPhone 6s, visit the App Store to download Prisma for free. Prisma is also available for download on the Google Play Store but it doesn’t have Live Stream option, not now at least.
