Despite having a price tag, Sony somehow not able to confirm the release date of PlayStation 4 Pro in Malaysia for the time being. There could be many reason for it including certification process but it seems the console has passed that particular hurdle since we have recently spotted it on SIRIM’s database.

Listed as CUH-7006B, the console was listed under Sony Malaysia’s name in late October. A quick check online showed us that the same model name was used on the console’s listing for Sony Hong Kong’s online store. Additionally, we are already aware from early on that the Sony itself referred to PS4 Pro as the CUH-7000 series.

Sony PlayStation 4 Pro On SIRIMIn general, the new PS4 Pro is not meant to replace the existing PlayStation 4 console but rather to provide a new option for gamers that want to experience gaming at up to 4K resolution. Alongside support for HDR content, the additional graphics firepower in PS4 Pro is provided by an upgraded AMD Radeon-based GPU within its processor that delivers 4.20 TFLOPS worth of computing power – around 2.36 TFLOPS more than the standard PS4.

Comes standard with 1TB storage space, the new PS4 Pro is priced in Malaysia at RM 1,799. We’ll keep you posted once we receive the official release date for the console in our market from our friends over at Sony Interactive Entertainment.
