[Update] Xiaomi Introducing Three New Products in Malaysia Tomorrow

by Andrew Cheng

Just moments after we spotted two new products registered under Xiaomi Malaysia on SIRIM, the company has just revealed that it will be revealing three new products for our local market tomorrow. More likely than not, these products include a new smartphone, the Mi Band 2, as well as the Mi Power Bank 2.

On its Facebook page, Xiaomi Malaysia posted a rather interesting teaser image – it merely shows the silhouette of two products, which looks a lot like a smartphone and a power bank. The company also mentioned that it will reveal more information tomorrow at 12PM.

More likely than not, Xiaomi will be introducing the Mi Power Bank 2 in Malaysia; it was officially announced just last month, and it’s said to be 1/3 thinner than the current 10,000mAh Mi Power Bank. Other than that, we’re pretty sure the Mi Band 2 will be making an appearance tomorrow as well, now that it has been registered with SIRIM.

The mysterious smartphone, on the other hand, still leaves us quite puzzled. If we were to go by our previous report, there’s a chance it could be the recently announced Redmi 4A, although some are doubtful a device this new will arrive on our shores so quickly. Who knows – it may just the Redmi Note 4 or even the Redmi Pro.

Regardless, all will be revealed on 8 November 2016 tomorrow at 12PM. We will find out then just what these three new Xiaomi products are.

[UPDATE – 12:21PM, 11/8/2016]: Xiaomi has announced its promotion in conjunction with Lazada’s 11.11 Online Revolution Sale. The company only introduced one new product, the 10,000mAh Mi Power Bank Pro with fast charging capability. In conjunction with this promotion, the power bank will be sold for RM119 instead of its original retail price of RM149. Other promotions include the Redmi Note 3 16GB model for RM499 – it originally goes for RM699 – and a free 10,000mAh Mi Power Bank with every Xiaomi Mi Max purchase.
