Dell XPS 13 with Kaby Lake Processors Arriving in Malaysia October 2016; Next XPS May Be a Convertible

Dell’s excellent XPS 13 was recently refreshed with Intel’s new Kaby Lake processors, and it appears the new model will be arriving in Malaysia shortly; as soon as next month, in fact. In addition to that, we were also told that the next iteration of the XPS lineup may be a convertible offering.

We were told all of these by a source familiar with the matter, and we believe the refreshed XPS 13 with Intel’s seventh generation processors will be making its way into Malaysia in October 2016. Naturally, the Rose Gold variant of the laptop will also be offered at the same time, although it remains to be seen which specification of the Ultrabook that we will be receiving in Malaysia.

When we spoke to our source about the future of the XPS lineup, we were told that the next XPS laptop – or laptops – may just be a convertible. After all, it’s the next logical step: the current XPS lineup already has a touchscreen, and some models in the series were convertibles to begin with – these include the current XPS 12 and its predecessor. However, our source mentioned that the new XPS is still in the prototype stage, so things may still change until the product is ready for deployment.

While our source told us that the refreshed Dell XPS 13 will be arriving in Malaysia next month, the exact retail prices of the new laptop were not revealed. Regardless, we will keep a close eye on the matter in the coming weeks.
