Previously available via smartphone, tablet, and web browser, TM has just added Samsung Smart TV as another official platform for its HyppTV Everywhere service. This was revealed earlier today through an announcement by Samsung Malaysia.
For those who are not familiar with HyppTV Everywhere, the service enables users to access the service outside the constraints of the traditional HyppTV set top box. In conjunction with the app release, Samsung is offering 60 days’ worth of free access to the service for customers that purchase the 49 or 43-inch K5500 series Smart TV from now onwards till 31 October 2016.
The free access will be provided in the form of code that can be entered into the app. Furthermore, customers are also able to obtain these selected Smart TV for RM 100 off its standard price when they bring along a photocopy of their latest TM bill and IC to participating Samsung Brand Shop throughout Malaysia.
In general, the availability of HyppTV Everywhere app on Samsung Smart TV is a clear sign that Samsung is willing to cooperate with local company to increase the amount of content services on its Smart TV platform which is already quite strong with the presence of Netflix, YouTube, and many more. We also see this as yet another effort by TM to grow the reach of its HyppTV service to more users.
