As per our previous report, the Polaris-based AMD Radeon RX 470 and RX 460 will finally be released into the market this month. While the RX 470 is officially available from local retailers since yesterday, the RX 460 will only be released next week although we have noticed that consumers in Malaysia are actually able to get their hands on one right away.
Available in the form of Sapphire Nitro+ RX 460 OC, the new card is apparently already on sale through Cycom. This particular variant also contains 4GB of GDDR5 memory which is double the amount of VRAM on AMD’s reference specifications. Furthermore, Sapphire Nitro+ cards are equipped with custom cooler that features two fans alongside thermal vents on their backplate.
However, the clock speed of this particular RX 460 is still a mystery to us though as Sapphire has yet to officially list the card on its website. Given the custom cooler and extra memory in it though, we do expect the Nitro+ RX 460 OC to perform slightly better than AMD’s reference card which already left quite a good first impression on us.
Price-wise, Cycom has listed the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 460 OC at RM 689 which is similar to what we’ve heard before. If you can’t wait till next week to get your hands on the card, you know what to do.
