Sony Xperia X Performance Will Not Be Launched in Malaysia

If you’ve been eyeing to get the Sony Xperia X Performance, we have bad news: Sony Malaysia will not be bringing in the flagship device to our market. Needless to say, this is quite an unfortunate decision.

Sony Malaysia confirmed this news over a reply to a curious user on its Twitter account. According to the company, the Xperia X Performance “will not be retailing in Malaysia.” This is despite the fact that the other devices in the Xperia X series – the X, XA and XA Ultra – are available in Malaysia.

While some consumers may be disappointed by this bit of news, the Xperia X Performance isn’t exactly an affordable device, which may be why the company isn’t planning to introduce the flagship smartphone in malaysia. After all, even the mid-range Xperia X retails at RM2,499 here, while the more budget-friendly Xperia XA and XA Ultra retail at RM1,199 and RM1,699 respectively.

Then again, it’s worth noting that Sony may have yet another flagship device in the pipeline. Just recently, a mysterious Sony smartphone dubbed “Xperia F8331” was spotted online, which supposedly sports similar hardware to the X Performance along with a bigger display and new design. Although there are no official details on this particular device yet, it may be officially introduced at IFA 2016 in September.
