vivo X7 & X7 Plus Official; Feature Snapdragon 652, 16MP Front Camera & Retail from RM1,500

After launching the vivo X6S and X6S Plus back in April this year, the Chinese company has just introduced two successors to these devices, the aptly named vivo X7 and X7 Plus. Not surprisingly, both smartphones are powered by a Snapdragon 652 processor, much like their predecessors. That being said, the X7 and X7 Plus do have a couple of other interesting features.

For one, both the X7 and X7 Plus are equipped with 16MP front-facing cameras. Evidently, these devices are targeted at those who appreciate taking selfies. Complementing the 16MP front camera is a 13MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus on the vivo X7 – the bigger X7 Plus gets a 16MP rear shooter instead.

In the battery department, the X7 and X7 Plus are equipped with much bigger batteries as well; the former has a 3,000mAh battery, while the latter features a much more generous 4,000mAh battery. In comparison, the X6 and X6 Plus are packed with smaller 2,400mAh and 3,000mAh batteries respectively.

Other specifications of the X7 and X7 Plus are Full HD Super AMOLED displays (5.2-inch and 5.7-inch respectively), 4GB of RAM, 64GB of non-expandable storage, fingerprint sensors, and surprisingly, only Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. Considering the fact that many new devices are now running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, this version of the popular operating system is quite dated.

The vivo X7 and X7 Plus will go on sale on 7 July and 15 July respectively in China. The X7 will go for 2,498 Chinese yuan (about RM1,500), while the retail price of the X7 Plus has not been announced yet. Naturally, it still remains to be seen if these two devices will be launched in Malaysia.
