The Steam Summer Picnic Sale for 2016 has officially begun today. Most of us know the drill by now, and are still disappointed by the lack of Flash Sales or Daily Deals. In any case, there is currently 12702 games on sale at the moment; which is far more than anyone in their right mind will be able to sift through.
Sale trading cards are also back this time around, with Steam users earning a card for every $10 (about RM40) spent during the sale. The lack of mini-game or real use for the trading cards limits their value, but they can still be sold on the Steam Community market for a little extra funds to buy even more games. Or craft the badges; some people are into that sort of thing.
Discounts range from 33-75% on all games, which has become the norm for Steam sales of this kind. Just expect newer titles to have a smaller discount.
The Steam Summer Picnic Sale will run until 10am PDT on 4 July; which is 1am Malaysia time the following day. It also ends conveniently close to the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays, so there might even be time to play some of the games bought during the sale.
