Samsung Malaysia has officially launched the Galaxy J series (2016) in Malaysia. Retailing from RM449, these are definitely devices aimed at budget-conscious consumers. The best part? Every purchase of any one of the Galaxy J devices with Yes 4G LTE’s prepaid SIM card bundle will receive 30GB worth of data from the company.

It appears Yes 4G has truly rolled out its LTE network. However, beyond mentioning the fact that 30GB worth of data – valid for only two months – from Yes 4G LTE will be available to those who purchase the Galaxy J (2016) devices with Yes 4G’s prepaid SIM card, the company did not elaborate beyond this today: it will only reveal more information in two weeks’ time.

Regardless, the most affordable device in this year’s Galaxy J series is the Galaxy J1. It’s equipped with a 4.5-inch 800 x 480 Super AMOLED display, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, 5MP rear and 2MP front-facing cameras, as well as a 2,050mAh battery.

One tier up is the Galaxy J5 (2016). It has a sharper and bigger 5.2-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing snapper, as well as a rather generous 3,100mAh battery.

The most well-equipped device in the 2016 Galaxy J series is definitely the new Galaxy J7. It is packed with a 5.5-inch 1280 x 720 HD Super AMOLED display, a 1.6GHz octa-core chipset with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, 13MP rear and 5MP front-facing shooter, as well as a sizeable 3,300mAh battery.
