First announced alongside Surface Pro 4 during Microsoft’s massive Windows 10 event last October, Microsoft Malaysia today has officially announced the arrival of Type Cover with Fingerprint ID into our market. While it is pretty much identical with a standard Type Cover, the addition of fingerprint scanner allows users to secure their Surface Pro 4 tablet against unauthorized login.
With the help of the Windows Hello biometric security framework within Windows 10, the Type Cover acts as another layer of security alongside the iris scanner on Surface Pro 4. That being said, it is still compatible with Surface Pro 3 – provided that the tablet is also running on Windows 10.

Even though Microsoft Malaysia might have just announced its availability today, it was already known for quite some time that this particular variant of Type Cover would eventually made its way into Malaysia. Furthermore, it has been spotted at local stores late last month prior to today’s announcement.
Priced at RM 669, it can now be obtained through Microsoft Malaysia’s own online store at Lazada as well as Microsoft Authorized Reseller outlets and authorized dealers nationwide.
