iflix For TM UniFi Subscribers

UPDATE (29/12, 12:32PM): Confirmed – the 1-year free subscription of iflix is now officially available to all UniFi home customers. Read more for details.

In what can be deemed as a landmark partnership between the two companies, TM have announced earlier this month that UniFi home customers will be able to enjoy 1-year worth of subscriptions to iflix for free. After some delays, such customers are now able to enjoy the subscriptions right away according to iflix Malaysia.

Under the deal, UniFi home customers will be able to enjoy iflix without the need to register or even login to the service. According to a tweet by TM earlier in the month, the deployment of the free iflix subscription for UniFi customers has begun on 21 December in stages and true enough, some of our forum members already able to utilize the service for free through their UniFi connection.

iflix and TM Responds

That being said, another tweet by TM earlier today stated that the deployment of free iflix subscription for UniFi home users has been delayed to an unspecified date due to technical problems. Despite being the opposite of what iflix has tweeted (to the same customer, nonetheless), the tweet by TM still makes sense though since some of our forumers have also reported difficulties in accessing iflix.

All in all, we believe that there might be a miscommunication between both companies and it is also quite likely that they are still streamlining the roll out as we speak. Nevertheless, we have to reached out to both parties for clarifications.

UPDATE (29/12, 12:32PM):

It is confirmed: UniFi home customers are now able to enjoy iflix without any charges for 1 year. Here’s a short statement by iflix Malaysia’s CEO himself, Azran Osman-Rani:

“The 12-month iflix subscription offer is now available to all Unifi customers. To activate it, just go to iflix.com on your browser or open the iflix app, while on the Unifi network.”
