Motorola Moto X Force Set to Be Released in Malaysia?

This year, Motorola has been really, really quiet in Malaysia. While this may be the case, a new device from the company has been registered on SIRIM: the Motorola Moto X Force, which features a shatterproof display. Curiously, many other Motorola devices have also been certified by SIRIM.

Looking back, we have seen a slew of Motorola devices registered on SIRIM. These include the Moto X Style, Play, Moto G, Moto E, and even all three variants of the second generation Moto 360 smartwatch. With the inclusion of the Moto X Force now, these are basically the bulk of Motorola’s devices this year.

Seeing how these Motorola devices have already been certified by SIRIM, we can’t help but to wonder if they will be released in Malaysia soon. Of course, until we hear something from Motorola (or even Lenovo), nothing is set in stone. After all, a SIRIM certification does not guarantee the availability of any specific device.

Regardless, the Moto X Force is undoubtedly a very interesting smartphone. Dubbed as the Droid Turbo 2 in the US, the X Force has a shatterproof 5.4-inch 2560 x 1440 AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 2.0GHz octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of built-in storage, a microSD card slot which supports cards up to 200GB, and a generous 3,760mAh battery.

Rounding out the specifications of the Moto X Force are a 21MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus, a 5MP front-facing shooter, LTE connectivity, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, which can be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Needless to say, the X Force is a well-equipped Android smartphone.

As of this writing, there is no indication of a local launch for the Motorola Moto X Force or any Motorola device. Hopefully, these 2015 Motorola devices will be launched in Malaysia soon enough.
